Typically its changed with your waterpump during the timing belt
service. If you are unsure of your coolant's condition or you have
not had your waterpump replaced recently its a good idea to have your
coolant system flushed. If your vehicles coolant is not properly mixed
for freezing conditions serious damage can occur to the engine. Cooling
system flushes run $120 for most models.
If the heater is not blowing warm on your
1997-2005 Audi (all models except TT & Q7) or Volkswagen Passat chances
are you need a new heater core; the heater core on these models is at
the highest point in the cooling system, as time goes by sediment builds
up inside the heater core reducing it's heating capacity causing the air
not to blow hot. Replacing the heater core is a time consuming process
