Volkswagen's never been big on making their cars sound
louder than they are, but for whatever reason they saw fit to add a "noise
amplifier" on the MK5 GTI/GLI and the MK6 GTI this amplifier adds
unnecessary additional plumbing to the intake tract to actually add a "speaker
under the rain tray. Removing this assortment of parts cleans up the
passenger side of the engine bay and increases throttle/boost response. You'll
also be eliminating several potential boost leaks that may develop with age.
